The Buffardello and the Linchetto in Careggine
With the exception of Isola Santa and the Capanne Careggine, the Buffardello, generally pronounced Bufardello, is identified by a whirlpool of wind that raises hay and dried leaves, more rarely, even people (Mezzana); much more vaguely attributed the jokes to be borne by domestic animals.
A Careggine you felt laugh, near the houses.
In Colli di Capricchia, the sister of information told to have seen him:
"A tiny little man, dressed in red, like a gnome".
In Isola Santa and in Capanne di Careggine was appointed Baffardello, but no one knows what it is;
Holy Island, it seems could turn milk into oil, according to some still exist, and it would be a wild animal, similar perhaps to a fox, emitting shrill cries in the night and sucks blood for pets, kill them. In Capanne of Careggine is considered as a kind of big bird at night.
In these two countries are entirely unknown characters that usually are given to Buffardello such jokes to people and domestic animals.
The Linchetto is known at La Foce, Le Coste, Mezzana, Porreta, Colli di Capricchia.
It fairly well differentiated from Buffardello, as he usually is identified with the devil or an evil spirit, and it is clear the distinction between the playful, innocuous but the spiteful Buffardello, and malicious, dangerous, the Linchetto.
In Colli di Capricchia, children said: <>.
In Porreta, Mezzana and La Foce to the Linchetto is attributed the action of <> who is asleep, while the Buffardello, as mentioned, is identified primarily as a wind or as an author of jokes inside the stables.
A Mezzana says: "Linchetto that crowd".
